Once you have booked

Here are a few reminders and considerations for before your treatment.

Before Your Treatment

  1. Schedule Wisely: Ensure your day around the appointment is free from stressful activities, allowing ample time to relax.

  2. Bring Your Medication List: Provide Dr. Kim with a list of all current medications and supplements to avoid any potential interactions.

  3. Eat a Light Meal: Have a light meal about two hours before your session; avoid feeling overly full or too hungry.

  4. Finish Exercise Early: Complete any vigorous exercise well in advance of your appointment to ensure comfort during treatment.

  5. Avoid Caffeine: Skip coffee or stimulants before your session to maximize the effectiveness of your treatment.

  6. Refrain from having tea, coffee, flavored drinks, or vividly-coloard food before the treatments. During the tongue analysis, the colored tongue coating might result in a different diagnosis.

  7. Minimize Distractions: Turn off your cell phone and other devices to create a calm environment.

  8. Avoid natural supplements that have anticoagulant properties: Please refrain from taking supplements at least 24 hours before the appointment, including fish oils, garlic, turmeric, gingko, ginger, and Vitamin E. However, if you are on anti-coagulant medications, please continue taking as prescribed by your physician and let us know about these in the intake form.

After Your Treatment

  1. Delay Showering or Bathing: Wait 12 hours before showering or bathing to prevent potential inflammation or infection.

  2. Stay Warm: Protect acupuncture points by avoiding cold water, drafts, and cold environments for at least 24 hours.

  3. Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Refrain from exposure to hot or cold environments that could disrupt your body’s response to the treatment.

  4. Rest and Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and rest to help your body fully process the benefits of the treatment.

  5. Prioritize Sleep: Get a good night's sleep to support your body's healing process.

  6. Avoid Strenuous Activities: Refrain from intense exercise or stress immediately following your session.

  7. Skip Alcohol and Caffeine: Avoid alcohol and caffeine for several hours post-treatment to prevent interference with the healing process.

  8. Eat Nourishing Foods: Opt for a light, balanced meal after your session; avoid heavy, greasy, raw, cold, or spicy foods to support recovery.

  9. Monitor Your Body: Pay attention to how you feel in the hours and days following your session, and report any unusual symptoms to us.

  10. Follow Up Appointments: Keep any scheduled follow-up appointments to maintain the progress made during your treatment.
